Each summer MSBA holds an Annual Conference on Coordinated School and College Safety and Security. This gathering is intended to assist persons who govern and work in public and nonpublic schools and colleges, universities, post-secondary educational institutions, law enforcement, the health community, fire fighters, emergency responders and others in keeping Missouri’s schools and colleges safe.
The two day conference will offer:
- Best practices for making schools and colleges safe
- Lessons learned through a study of prior incidents of violence
- Experts and professionals to discuss effective violence prevention and intervention strategies;
- Interaction with key Missouri state officials
- Opportunities to learn about current and recent threats to school safety and security;
While Missouri’s schools and colleges remain safe places, they can be made more secure. Threats to school and college safety and security remain and those threats are constantly changing. This conference offers an opportunity for attendees to receive current and new information in this vital school area.
The conference registration fee is $225. For college students who are enrolled for at least 12 hours in the 2009 Fall Semester, the registration fee is $125. Registration can be completed online. Law enforcement officers can earn POST credit by participating in the conference (by remitting a fee of $35--the fee for POST credits is not included in the conference registration fee of $225). By attending the conference on both July 30 and 31, law enforcement officers can earn eight (8) POST credits.
Plan to join us at the upcoming Conference on Coordinated School and College Safety and Security, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, July 30 – 31, 2009 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.
