Districts Must Pay 65% of Insurance Premiums for Nonrenewed, RIF’ed and Terminated Employees

Under the new federal stimulus bill both these federal and state laws were temporarily amended to allow for any employee who is "involuntarily terminated" between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2009 to stay on the district's health insurance plan and pay only 35% of the monthly premium, with the district paying the remaining 65%, for up to 9 months.
